The BACP Healthcare executive and staff have a four nations remit. Our Lead Advisor for Northern Ireland, Phyllis Coulter is based in Greenisland.
Phyllis Coulter, BACP Lead Advisor for Northern Ireland | Over the last 10 years I have provided therapeutic services in the statutory, voluntary and private sectors in Northern Ireland, working with children and young people and also individual adults and couples. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor, deliver training workshops and address conferences. | My role has two main threads: one is increasing opportunity for BACP to influence policy, legislation, and commissioning in connection with talking therapies at local and regional levels. The other is to advocate members’ issues within BACP as well representing BACP in Northern Ireland. |
We have recently completed a pilot data collection exercise aiming to demonstrate the potential for primary care and voluntary sector counselling within the NI Assembly’s strategy to improve access to therapies in the NHS.
